Description This is a pre-owned 6/8 Thiers Issard razor which has the Wolf and Ram blade marking in gilt and black on the blade front. The blade is made of carbon steel, has a mirror finish, and a round point. It has a thumb notch with jimping underneath to the lower tang. The spine has the hand worked historic festonne design which is set off beautifully by a the very unusual scales. These are primarily made of snakewood but have (what I believe to be) ebony inset at either end. I have never seen scales like this on another Thiers Issard razor and suspect they may have been a prototype. This razor is being sold on behalf of a collector and is very good condition save for a small trace of corrosion on the blade about one centimetre from the point which can be seen on the photographs.
