At 1180 pieces, it’s perhaps one of the most complex wooden model kits on the market just now so will provide an excellent challenge to any model builder.The high level of complexity comes from both the natural design of an oil rig platform, and the interactive nature of the model which adds flavour to the final product. The platform stands on 3 props which can move up and down, and is equipped with a bathyscaphe, lifting cranes, a helicopter and a spring motor which allows the main drill to operate for over a minute!A challenging project – expect to spend a few days completing the kit – the manufacturer suggests around 14-16 hours, but that may vary depending on your own skill level. A great gift for experienced model builders or anyone with a passion for engineering.
