Description This “Le Grelot” razor from Thiers Issard is in 5/8 with blonde horn scales. The image shows scales with distinct brown markings but blonde horn can equally come entirely in pale honey colours. The blade has a satin finish to both sides and bears the historic Le Grelot Medaille D’Or mark. A very attractive combination. Due to the popularity of the Le Grelot razors we have decided to stock a few more variants of these new razors under this historic brand recently revived by Thiers Issard. In 1924 Pierre and Louis Thiers exhibited their razors in Algiers and were awarded a gold medal for excellence. The Medaille D’or mark celebrated this achievement. The blade has a half hollowed grind, meaning the blade is slightly stiffer, thus making it a perfect choice for beginners and those with a more wiry or coarse beard growth. It has jimping to the lower side of the tang. Beautifully presented in a stylish retro cardboard box. As with all natural materials, colouring of horn varies significantly from one razor to another.
