The Fortuna 1400 Heavy Duty wheelchair range consists of a self proppelled chair in seatwidths of 24", 26" and 28". The Fortuna 1400 has triple cross bars and anti twist bracing to the frames. 50 Stone Alternating Airflow Mattress

It is well known that a normal 8" deep cell air replacement mattress pressure relieving efficiency can be compromised on a profiling bed when steeply angled: as the back rest rises the patient tends to be pushed towards the foot board, and the cells tend to topple over like dominoes when subjected to sloping forces. For the patient, this slipping down the bed can lead to compression of the diaphram and increased lower back strain. For the carer, reducing the need for the patient to be lifted back up the bed would conform to minimum lifting policy. The PCAM-50 uses circular air cells that cannot topple and is combined with an integral foam under-layer that has built-in hip and knee area hinges. These hinges ensure that points of articulation are closer to the level of the spine and legs than the metal bed base for more effective pressure relief.
